Sent on behalf of Ewa Dufra, LINC Program Manager:
Dear CALC, VTAL and Other Rural Community Partners, The Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada Rural Delivery Program (LINC RDP) offers face to face and online language and settlement training for permanent residents across rural Alberta. The program facilitates the integration of immigrants into Canadian culture by providing basic language training based on life and work appropriate themes. LINC certificates are recognized by Citizenship and Immigration Canada as proof of language proficiency for citizenship purposes, and learner services such as student advisors, career or work experience consultants are available to all students via personal appointments, phone, email, Skype or other messenger tools.
NorQuest College has been contracted by the Government of Canada to offer LINC RDP to a wide variety of rural communities since program inception in 1996. At this time, the College is interested in input from the rural communities and is inviting our existing CALC, VTAL and any other rural community partners or those interested in potentially having NorQuest College’s LINC programming in their community to share your thoughts on the future of the program via the LINC RDP survey. The survey will remain open until Thursday, March 19th and we will follow up with phone calls to those few communities that may be unable to complete the survey online for connectivity reasons.
We sincerely thank you for your input as we strive to serve you, your students and your communities the best we can. We very much look forward to continuing to work with you over the coming years!
